我們的工作 A centre, a calendar, and a hand when it's needed

Everything the Association does happens in one building and is run by the people who use it. There is no paid staff and no waiting list — if you are a member, you can walk in.

本會的一切工作都在同一座會所內進行，並由使用者自己籌辦。本會沒有受薪職員，亦毋須輪候 —— 只要是會員，隨時歡迎到訪。

社區中心The community centre

The hall at 15 Lower Ashley Road is ours. It is where the committee meets, where the Sunday school teaches, where the lion dance comes in at New Year, and where someone will usually be around to put the kettle on.

位於 15 Lower Ashley Road 的會所屬本會所有。委員會在此開會，中文學校在此授課，農曆新年的舞獅亦在此進行；平日總有人在，隨時為你沏上一杯茶。

活動與健康Activities and wellbeing

Most weeks there is something on. The point is partly the exercise and partly that nobody should be spending the week on their own — which is why the walking group and the dinners matter as much as the health talks.

本會幾乎每週都有活動。運動固然重要，但更重要的是不讓任何人整個星期獨自度過 —— 因此健步行與聚餐，與健康講座同樣重要。

中文學校Sunday Chinese School

The school has been running since our earliest years. It teaches language and culture to the next generation every Sunday during term, and will soon have a website of its own with the timetable, the fees and the registration form.

中文學校自本會創辦初期已開辦，於學期內逢星期日授課，向下一代傳授語言與文化。學校獨立網站即將推出，將載有上課時間表、學費及報名表格。

有需要時 A hand when it's needed

The Association was founded to help with the difficulties caused by language and unfamiliar systems, and that part of the job has not changed. If you bring us a letter you cannot read or an appointment you cannot arrange, someone on the committee will either help or find the person who can. Ask at the centre, or use the contact form.

本會成立之初，就是為了協助同胞克服語言障礙與陌生制度帶來的困難，這一點至今未變。如你收到看不懂的信件，或有難以安排的預約，委員會定會親自協助，或為你找到合適的人。歡迎親臨中心查詢，或填寫聯絡表格。

We are neighbours and volunteers, not a legal or medical service — but we will always help you find the right door. 我們是鄰里與義工，並非法律或醫療機構，但定會協助你找到合適的途徑。

Lend a hand

招募義工 None of this runs itself

Cooking, driving, teaching, setting out chairs, cutting hair, sitting with someone at an appointment — a few hours is a real contribution, and most volunteers started by turning up once.

下廚、駕車、教學、擺放桌椅、理髮、陪同覆診 —— 每月數小時已是實質的幫助。大部分義工都是從「來一次看看」開始的。
